After just two years, the popular spot for coffee and bagels will be closing down
A local bakery that made its home on Lark Street in Albany for the past two years will be closing at the end of 2024. Nyx Bakery was opened in late 2022 by owner Shannon Dowen-Ronda and had become a popular spot for coffee, bagels, macaroons and other baked goodies.
The bakery made the announcement Monday in a Facebook post.
Dowen-Ronda told News 10 the reason for closing was financial:
I’m closing for the reason most small businesses close: money. Because the cost of everything is increasing and business is not. I’ve had so many issues inside and out of the shop, costing precious time and money.
The bakery will remain open until December 31st and will continue operating as normal until then.
