A new approach to wellness for the Capital Region
A new floating sauna is launching this fall on Saratoga Lake. Kos Sauna, founded by Kate Butchart, offers a Nordic-style wellness experience inspired by her years living in Norway. The sauna is designed to float on the water and will feature a glass wall, rooftop deck, and direct access to the lake for cold plunges—even in winter.
The structure, being built by East Coast House Boats, will be 45 feet long and hold up to 15 people. Inside, the temperature will reach up to 230°F, creating the intense heat that’s key to the sauna’s restorative cycle of heat, cold, and rest.
Sessions will cost $30, with memberships available for $99 that include discounts and support environmental initiatives. Kos Sauna will be docked at Lago by Druthers and open for public sessions, private events, and community programs.
