She made the announcement during the 6pm news Wednesday
After more than a decade anchoring the evening news at News 10 ABC, Trishna Begam is stepping away from the anchor desk this July. A journalist for over 16 years, Begam spent nearly 13 of those years in Albany, calling News10 her “home away from home.”
In a heartfelt farewell, Begam reflected on the privilege of telling local stories and serving the Capital Region.
“Being a reporter is like having a backstage pass to the human experience,” she wrote. “It’s the joy of this job on many days.”
While she called the decision bittersweet, Begam said her two children were a major factor in choosing to step away.
“I’d like to be there more for my kids… for the smaller, quieter moments that matter most for our family,” she said.
