CDTA announces a new bus route to bridge gap in service.
The Capital District Transportation Authority recently announced service changes coming Monday, August 25th for several lines on their bus system. While many of them focus on their pre-existing system in the Capital District, there's a pair that will affects commuters on the Glens Falls line.
- Route #405 (Moreau/S. Glens Falls) – Route will only operate on Saturday and no longer operate on weekdays. Customers can now utilize Route #713 during the week.
- Route #713 (Glens Falls/Saratoga Springs) – Route will connect Downtown Glens Falls to Downtown Saratoga Springs via Route 9 on weekdays.
While the schedule or route for the new Route 713 is unknown at this time, what is known is that the route will bridge the gap between the pre-existing CDTA system in Saratoga Springs and the former Greater Glens Falls Transit line that merged together with the CDTA system back in January 2024.
With exception to the Northway Express line that was offered weekdays between South Glens Falls and the Albany area, the northernmost spot on the CDTA line previously was Wilton Mall, and the southernmost spot on the GGFT line was Saratoga Road at Fawn Road, near the Animal Hospital.
With the new line essentially taking the same route as the current Route #405 in Moreau and South Glens Falls, CDTA announces the route will become a Saturday only route, with no change to the Saturday schedule.
In addition to the addition of the Glens Falls/Saratoga Springs route, CDTA announces Route #452 will return to the pre-2020 routing on Circular Avenue and will not utilize High Rock Avenue, and that the Lake George seasonal trolleys will continue through Monday, October 13th.
