Bookstores are thriving, high-speed rail makes progress and more!

Bookstores are booming!

Barnes & Noble announced they had one of their strongest years in recent memory, and opened 31 stores last year, which is more stores than they've opened in the last ten years combined! This year, Barns & Noble is looking to open up to 60 new stores! Many local bookstores have reported growth as well.

High-speed rail is coming!

Texas Central has made progress on a high-speed rail line from Dallas to Houston! Right now it typically takes around 4 hours to drive or 2 hours to fly between these cities, but a new 200mph high speed rail line would reduce that time to just an hour and a half!

Giant sand battery in Finland!

A startup is building a giant sand battery in Finland to store energy instead of using lithium-ion batteries. This allows energy to be stored without needing precious metals!
