A Blood Drive In The Honor Of A Fallen Friend
The Troy Police Department is hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross in memory of Sergeant James O’Brien on Tuesday at 433 River Street in Troy. The drive will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Hedley Building on the ninth floor in the Collar City Ballroom. Participants need an appointment to donate, which can be made through the Red Cross website, by calling (800) RED-CROSS, or using the sponsor keyword “Troypolice” on the Free Blood Donor App. The drive is a way for the department to honor Sergeant O’Brien, who passed away in 2010 after battling leukemia following a 20-year career with the Troy Police
