It's part of a national downsizing plan
Big Lots announced it will be closing dozens of locations in the coming months. The discount retailer says inflation and competition were key factors in declining revenues - making it difficult to remain profitable in certain markets.
One of those markets is Queensbury. Big Lots originally opened in 2022 at the Glen Square Plaza on Glen Street. After just over two years in operation, it will be shutting down.
The two other New York stores will also be closing, they are both located on Long Island.
The rest of the Capital Region locations in Amsterdam, Clifton Park, Granville, Greenwich, Palatine Bridge, and Troy are expected to remain open at this time.
