The organizers say the attraction will not return for the 2024/2025 season.
Thousands came out each winter to experience the Ice Castles, which was then changed to a different attraction called 'Winter Realms' in Lake George. Unfortunately, due to the warmer weather we've experienced the last couple winters, organizers have told the Warren County Board of Supervisors Tourism Committee, that the attraction will not be back in 2024.
The ice castles were a big hit when they started in late 2021 into 2022, but were delayed due to mild weather in the 2022/2023 winter season.
In 2023, it was announced the ice castles would be changed to a new attraction called 'Winter Realms', which featured an ice rink, walk through light shows, and ice sculptures. But even last season's warmer temperatures made it difficult for Winter Realms to operate regularly.
The organizers said although they won't be bringing the attraction to Lake George in 2024, they haven't ruled out a return in the future. No word yet on if Lake George officials are planning another event to take its place.
