Make a boat, make it float
The white water is raging on the Anthony Kill in Mechanicville, making perfect conditions for the city's annual 'Anything that Floats' regatta on Sunday.
2026 marks the 51st year for the event, where crafty boaters create makeshift vessels out of whatever materials they have around. The goal is to make it down the Anthony Kill to the Mechanicville City Dock. Some make it, some don't - but it's an incredible event to watch. Plenty of first responders are on hand to ensure the safety of anyone participating.
Here's a rundown of the day's events:
- 10am - Vendor Fair
- 12pm - White Water Derby
- 2pm - Cast Off Duck Derby
- 2:30pm: Anything that Floats
- 3:30pm: Awards Ceremony
It's free to watch, food trucks will be on hand, a live DJ and more. Visit https://www.mechanicvilleacsc.org/anything-that-floats/ for all the info.
