Ty Herndon Opens Up In New Book To Help Others

Most singers hope to reach a point in their career where they can look back and 'tell their story'.  As we all know from previous books and movies about entertainers' lives, it's not all 'roses' behind the hits, awards and fame.  Ty Herndon, a voice that filled radio with classics like 'Living In A Moment' 'Loved Too Much' 'It Must Be Love' and 'A Man Holdin' On (To A Woman Letting Go)', has released his story of struggles, demons and bad life choices that filled his journey to becoming a music star.

While reading Ty Herndon's book 'What Mattered Most', I felt the same roller-coaster ride as I did reading George Jones' story, 'I Lived To Tell It All'.  Much like with Ty's book, I had revered George Jones and I just couldn't believe what I was reading and what he survived, but gave him credit for coming forward and sharing his not-so-perfect story. We probably all have something we don't want the world to know- but kudos to Ty Herndon for being more open than many of us would ever want to in public.  After all, if telling his story persuades one person to pursue help, or just realize they are 'not alone', it was worth it.

Although the book reveals the reality of show business, the story is also relatable to people outside the music industry, especially if you have friends or family members dealing with addiction or mental health issues.
