ALBANY, NY (October 27, 2023) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has begun installing CDTA bus stop signs along Greater Glens Falls Transit routes. This is the first step in a phased approach to integrate and introduce CDTA to the Warren County community.

“We are excited to be taking this first visible step in bringing CDTA to Warren County,” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile. “Over the next several weeks, the community will start to see more of CDTA as we transition the service network. I want to thank the Warren County Board of Supervisors and the Mayor of Glens Falls for helping to make our service a reality for the North County. We look forward to getting to know our customers and the community as we roll out the CDTA welcome.”

The Warren County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution in May to join the Capital District Transportation Authority. In September, New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation into law that allows Warren County to enter CDTA’s transportation network. Warren County is the sixth county to join the Authority. The merger into CDTA will give customers in Warren County increased accessibility to transportation throughout the Capital Region.

CDTA is working with the City of Glens Falls to transition employees at GGFT. As bus stop signs are being installed, GGFT buses will be painted and branded with the recognizable CDTA blue and gold. Marketing and promotional materials will be developed, and appropriate social media will be introduced so that GGFT customers can transition to the CDTA information platform. CDTA is working to assume and transfer GGFT assets, including equipment, property, and other administrative items.

This plan is intended to introduce CDTA to the community and allow CDTA the time to develop new mobility solutions for North County residents, employers, and partners.
