The holiday shopping season is here, and Americans are opening up their wallets. A Nerdwallet survey found that Americans will spend $925 on average on gifts for family and friends - up from $831 last year. It also found that all that shopping is stressing us out - 55% said they're stressed by holiday spending, and 28% were still paying off credit card balances from last year's shopping spree.
