Wolf Road Hooters Closes, Leaving New York Without A Location

The Colonie location had been open for 15 years

The Hooters on Wolf Road in Colonie has permanently closed, ending a 15-year run in the Capital Region. It also leaves New York without a single Hooters restaurant.

People first noticed something was up when the restaurant's doors were locked and a sign thanking customers and employees appeared in the window. The company hasn't said much publicly about the closure, but the restaurant is no longer operating.

If you've lived in the Capital Region for any length of time, you probably have some connection to that building. Maybe you grabbed wings after work, watched a game there, met friends for drinks, or just drove past it a thousand times heading down Wolf Road. Love it or hate it, it was one of those places that always seemed like it'd be there.

The closing also comes during a rough stretch for the chain. Hooters filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year before being sold to a group that includes some of the brand's original founders. Since then, the company has been closing restaurants around the country as it restructures.

Now the Wolf Road location has joined that list.
