Strong winds are already blanketing the Capital Region - the National Weather Service says it could potentially get worse. A Tornado Watch has been issued for most parts of the area and Upstate New York as well as Vermont and Eastern Massachusetts until 3pm.

A tornado watch does not mean a tornado is imminent, but does confirm weather conditions meet the criteria for where one or more could form.

In addition, a wind advisory is also in effect until 8pm. The Weather Service in Albany wars that wind gusts could reach 50mph.
