At least six inches in most areas
Update Thurs. 4:44pm: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for parts of the area beginning at 7pm Saturday.
Although still a few days out, the National Weather Service says the Capital Region should prepare for what it calls an 'impactful' winter storm Saturday night into Sunday.
A preliminary map shared by the weather service shows the probabilities of 6 inches or more for different areas of the region.
Snow is expected to begin Saturday night and carry over into Sunday, ending by Sunday afternoon.
