Albany Symphony Headlines Free Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration!
Forget the concert hall—the Town of Waterford is getting ready to celebrate the Erie Canal Bicentennial with the Albany Symphony as they take center stage along the banks of the Erie Canal for one of the Capital Region's most unique summer celebrations. Waterford's Lock E2 will come alive this Friday, July 10, for the Water Music New York: More Voices Festival, a free event beginning at 2:30pm featuring live entertainment, local artists, food, outdoor recreation, family activities, and programs celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal. The celebration concludes with the Albany Symphony's 8pm performance, and a Festival Drone show immediately following the concert. With music, culture, and one of New York's most iconic waterways, this unique festival offers a fresh way to experience the Capital Region's past and present.
